If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading. Lao Tzu

Career Development is a very important aspect of a person’s life. Rewards and benefits are obtained only when a person is able to develop the career. Career Development helps individuals to develop their capabilities and improve their performance. It is a challenge for organizations to respond to the development initiatives that individuals are engaged in and to make career investments in order to enjoy quicker returns in terms of career growth and progression (Koropov and Kapova, 2007).

Positioning

The Association of Career Firms International (ACF International) work is focused on three main areas:

  • INDUSTRY
Providing information to its members about developments in the industry and to promote quality.
  • PUBLIC
Promoting the services of the Outplacement industry as best practice when restructuring.
  • GOVERNMENT
Work to influence policy on outplacement and employment related issues.

ACF Membership embraces organisations who focus on helping individuals to make an informed next career move, not just to get a new job.

Career Management and Transition comprises a range of services, which are designed to help organisations and their employees to deal effectively with change, so as to minimise the adverse effects of such change and to benefit from the new opportunities that are created.

History

The Association of Career Firms was founded in 1996 to bring together and represent the interests of the outplacement industry. It is a non-profit organisation representing more than 140 offices in the career management industry throughout the world. ACF International has developed into an influential trade organisation with a strong link to the European Union. We are focused on achieving European and international awareness on how effective outplacement can be during transition.
